Privacy Policy
Effective November 9, 2026
Weekend Ball (weekendball.com) is operated by WEEKENDBALL LLC, Liberty, Missouri (“Weekend Ball”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use weekendball.com and Weekend Ball text alerts, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Tournament information. Our tournament pages show team-level information: team names, schedules, fields, scores and standings, taken from each tournament’s published schedule. Player profiles are the one exception, and only with a parent’s yes.
- Text alert sign-ups. Your mobile number, the tournament and team you chose, and a record of your consent: the date and time, the exact wording you agreed to, and the IP address and browser you signed up from.
- Shoutout yes. When a parent, guardian or adult player turns shoutouts on, a record of that yes: the date and time, the exact wording agreed to, and the IP address and browser it came from.
- Teams waitlist. If you join the Weekend Ball Teams waitlist, the email, team name and role you give, and your phone if you add one, to tell you when Teams opens. We never text you from that form.
- Sign-in. If you sign in with Google or Microsoft (for example, to send us a game recording), we receive your email address from that service.
- What you send us. Feedback you write on the site, emails, replies to our texts, and game recordings or files you choose to upload. From a screen recording, only still pictures are sent; we delete uploaded pictures and files within 14 days.
- Technical information. Your IP address, browser type and the pages you open, kept in server logs and page counts so the site stays fast, working and secure.
- Cookies. Small cookies that keep you signed in and remember coach links you opened on your device. We don’t use advertising cookies.
Player profiles
A player profile is a public page about one player. It shows only after a parent or guardian (or an adult player) says yes.
A profile shows:
- The player’s name, written the way the family chose.
- Jersey number, positions, age group and grad year.
- The teams the player is on.
- Stats from box scores uploaded to Weekend Ball.
- Rankings, only where the player is in the top half.
- Social handles, photos and videos, only after they are added and we have looked at them.
A profile never shows a school, a hometown, height, weight, or where the player will play next.
We ask search engines not to list profiles.
A profile can be turned off at any time, with one tap or by emailing hello@weekendball.com.
Join requests
A family can ask to join a team from the team’s page on Weekend Ball. A request holds the player’s first and last name, birth month and year (never the day), grad year, up to three positions, the team the player is on now and an optional highlight link. It also holds the parent or guardian’s name, email address and mobile number, the email address of the sign-in that sent it, and the words they agreed to.
Whoever sends or OKs a request signs in with Google or Microsoft first, so the team can see who asked. A player 13 or older can start a request, but it goes to the team only after a parent or guardian signs in and OKs it. Players under 13 can’t start one; a parent or guardian sends it.
We send the request to the team’s club, which uses it to review the player and to reach the parent or guardian by email or phone about joining. If the player joins, the club may text that mobile number about the team. Reply STOP to any text to stop it.
The club keeps a request until the club deletes it. A request a player started that a parent or guardian never OK’d is deleted when its code runs out, and one the player takes back is deleted right away.
How we use it
- To run the tournament pages and keep schedules and scores up to date.
- To send the text alerts you asked for, and to answer your HELP and STOP messages.
- To answer your messages and make Weekend Ball better.
- To keep the site secure and stop abuse.
- If you sign in, we may email you about Weekend Ball Teams (team management and fundraising). You can unsubscribe at any time.
- When you tap “Tell me when it’s ready” on a player profile while signed in, we keep your email address to tell you when the guest player board or lessons with partner instructors open.
Guest Portal
If a parent turns on Guest Portal, claimed coaches can see that player’s guest post. A parent’s yes shares the player’s full name and birth date with that one team. We keep a record of each consent. Posts come down when the last weekend passes or when a parent or player removes them, and we delete them 90 days later. Team needs are public and hold no player information. We log coach searches to protect players. Chats between families and coaches are saved for one year. Staff read them only if someone reports a problem.
Text messages
We use your mobile number only to send the Weekend Ball texts you signed up for and to answer your HELP and STOP messages.
We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or text messaging consent to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party.
Twilio delivers our text messages.
Text STOP to stop all Weekend Ball texts at any time, or HELP for help. You can also email hello@weekendball.com. Message and data rates may apply. Sign up at Get text alerts.
Claiming your player
A parent or guardian can claim their player at Claim your player. A player 13 or older can ask a parent to, and a player 18 or older can claim themselves. A claim lets the grown-up run the player’s Weekend Ball profile.
- One quick check. To show you’re a grown-up, you take one photo of your driver’s license, once. In seconds, an automated checking service reads your name and birthday from it. We never save your photo. We keep only the result (for example “adult, checked Oct 25”), the date and the name you typed.
- Other ways. A parent already linked to the player in Weekend Ball Teams needs no photo, and the team’s verified coach can vouch for a parent.
- Children. A player under 13 never signs in or types anything: they hand their parent a link, and the parent claims them. When a player on an older team gives their birth month and year, or a parent gives their player’s, we keep only the birth month and year, never the day. Your player moves up an age group on the 1st of that month.
- Your choices. The profile goes on once the claim is confirmed. Turn it off any time with one tap, or unclaim the player; your yes ends right away. A claim never turns on posts about a player on social media.
Player shoutouts
A shoutout is a good-news post on Weekend Ball’s social media accounts that names a player, like a home run or a great game on the mound. We post one only after a parent or guardian says yes, or after a player who is 18 or older says yes for themselves. A claim on its own never turns shoutouts on.
- Checked first. Coach D looks at every post with a name before it goes up.
- The name. It shows the way the family chose: the full name, or first name and last initial.
- Handles. We can add a player’s social handles (13 and up only, after we look at them) to a post.
- Turning it off. Turn shoutouts off any time with one tap. Ask for past posts to come down the same day, with one tap in our email or by emailing hello@weekendball.com.
- No texts. We never text you about shoutouts.
Who else sees information
We do not sell personal information.
Tournament pages are public: anyone can see team names, schedules and scores.
Player profiles are public too, but only with a parent’s yes.
Once a shoutout is posted, a social media scheduling service and the social networks receive the player’s name, as part of the post.
Companies that run parts of the site for us (hosting, email delivery, sign-in, and an automated checking service for the one-time license check) handle information only to provide those services to us. We also give out information when the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety. None of this includes your mobile number or text messaging consent, which are excluded and are never shared.
Children
Weekend Ball is for parents, fans and coaches. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you think a child has sent us some, email us and we will delete it. A parent or guardian may send information about their own player in a join request. Text alerts are for people 18 or older, or with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
Kids and the app
Weekend Ball is built for grown-ups. Kids can look at scores, and the rest is for parents, guardians and players 13 and up.
- Before anyone signs in, on the website or in the Weekend Ball app, we ask for a birth month and year. Under 13 never signs in, uploads, follows a team or gets alerts. They see a way to send it to a parent instead. We keep only the age group, never the date.
- Everything we hold about a child under 13 comes from a parent or guardian, never from the child.
- Players 13 to 17 need a parent’s or guardian’s OK before anything of theirs shows, and a player’s own “off” stays off.
- The app has no ads and no tracking. Phone alerts go only to signed-in grown-ups and players 13 and up.
- A parent or guardian can see what we hold about their child, change how the name shows, take down a photo, turn the profile off, or delete it, at any time. Email us and we will help too.
How long we keep it
We keep your text alert sign-up while you are signed up. After you text STOP, we stop texting you and keep the record of your consent and your opt-out for up to five years, to show we followed the rules. Uploaded pictures and files are deleted within 14 days. Join requests are kept until the club deletes them (see Join requests above). Other information is kept only as long as we need it for the reasons above.
- The license photo for the one-time grown-up check is never saved.
- A family photo that is taken down or turned away is deleted 30 days later.
- A yes for a player’s profile or posts is kept while the profile is on, and the record of when it ended is kept after.
- When you delete your account, it is gone right away, anything left is finished within 24 hours, and backup copies are gone within 30 days.
Your choices
- Text STOP to stop texts. Text START to sign up again.
- Unsubscribe from our emails at any time.
- Delete your account yourself at weekendball.com/account.
- Email hello@weekendball.com to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you.
Security
The site uses encrypted (https) connections, and we limit who can see personal information. No system is perfect, so we can’t promise information will never be exposed.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
